Valley View Golf Club
Information & Opportunities
- With the potential for our first real frost and temperatures close to freezing overnight coming up in the next few days, we will examine the first tee times of the day as we get closer to December. Our first time is currently 8 am. If we have a frost/freeze, tee times will simply be pushed back as far as need be and will remain in the same order as originally booked.
- The Golf Course and entire facility will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28). We hope you and your family have a great holiday!
- On Saturday the 30th, we have an event offered for Members and their guests. This is the 2 Person Gobbler Shamble. Teams can be made up of 2 VV Members or 1 Member and 1 Guest (must have a USGA handicap). The information sheet is below. You make your own tee time for this event (2-2person teams) and are welcome to do that now. You must tee off no later than noon to participate. Simply make your tee time when you sign up to play.
- As we move into the offseason, we have started the “Offseason 5-some Experiment”. We need for everyone to follow a couple of simple rules…
- You ARE STILL required to play in 2 hours per 9 holes or less. To this point, that has already been a problem on multiple occasions. Fivesomes slow down on the tee box and on the green because those are the 2 spots you can only have 1 person hitting at a time. Two hours per 9 holes (or faster) is our base for a 4 hour round, so please help us out if joining into a fivesome. PLAY READY GOLF!
- Letting an occasional group play through is a possible remedy when the course isn’t crowded, but if there are multiple groups caught in the wake of a slow group, it is definitely not the answer…that simply slows the day for the group letting others go through and still bogs down everything behind. This is not just a fivesome issue, it’s an issue for any slower group.
- Bottom line…we wish for an enjoyable day for all players. At this time, we are allowing fivesomes and would like to thank everyone in advance for remembering all of the other players on the course.
- DON’T FORGET DARKNESS - It is getting dark much earlier, so please factor that in when booking your tee time.
