On Saturday, November 5, 2011, Valley View Golf Club hosted their Annual 27-Hole Tournament. Participants played 18 holes, stopped for a great lunch, then continued the final 9 holes flighted according to their earlier scores. The Fall Classic:
The Fall Classic was our First Annual Course Improvement Tournament open to our members and the general public. Funds raised by the players were matched by the Club to be used to improve our course. Participants were allowed to select how the money was to be used from a choice of three options at the conclusion of the tournament.

CLayton Crum wins the 2011 Valley View Golf Club Junior Matchplay Tournament by defeating Tanner Cook in final round. This years event was played June 30th - July 2nd in some extremely hot and humid
conditions. We want to congratulate all the participants for playing and especially Clayton Crum on his first victory here at Valley View!
Valley View Golf Club's RED-WHITE & BLUE Tournament held on Monday July 4th.
The RED-WHITE & BLUE tournament was a 2-person 1-best ball tournament where each contender had to select 6 white tees- 6-red tees and 6- blue tees to hit from during their 18 hole round. (woman hit from 250 yard markers on the par fives and 200 yard markers on the par fours as well as their normal red tees). Strategy is key in this event since partners don't have to hit from the same tees on the same hole!

June 11th, 2011 Floyds Knobs Valley View Golf Club hosted it's annual 2-person Pinehurst Alternate Shot Tournament. This event is a two person team event where both players tee off, they hit each other's tee shots, then select which ball to play out as the team ball and alternate hitting that ball until holed! this procedure is followed on each of the remaining holes! Here are the results in both the gross and net divisions.

Valley View Ladies annual Member/Member Tournament was won by Marion Hyenga and Carolyn Blackman!
The Ladies Member/Member Tournament was held on June 1st at 9:00am this year. This two women event has the team playing a pinehurst alternate shot for 9 holes and a 2-person scramble on the other nine holes.
This years champions were Marion Hyenga and Carolyn Blackman who shot a net 29. Second place honors went to Juanita Lilly and Audrey Capper with a score of 34. Rounding out the winners in third place were Juanita Lamb and Gerri Austin who shot 40. Thanks for playing!!!!

VOYLES AND FROSSARD TRYING TO SWEEP 2-MAN EVENTS IN 2011
This year's 2nd 2-man event, the Valley View Member/ Member Tournament, was won by Stu Voyles and Todd Frossard. The dynamic duo are two for two thus far this year in carding victories.Frossard and Voyles fired a 68 in the alternate shot format to win top honors in the gross division. Winners in the Net division were Sean King and Mike Kelly with a net score of 62.
Other winners in the gross division consisted of:
Paul Davenport and Bill arnold, 2nd place gross with a score of 71;
Third place gross division winners, Ryan McCartin and Mike Meeks with a score of 73;
rounding out the winners in the gross division was the 4th place finishers, Dusty Waiz and David Whallen with a score of 75.
In the net division, 2nd place winners were the team of Jim Biery and Greg Deuser with a score of 64.
Third place honors went to Gary Huesman and Frank Jasgarszewski with a score of 66.
4th place went to Wiley Brooks and Phil McClure with a score of 66.

Valley View Ladies Association Opening Scramble
The Valley View Ladies Association kicks off the season opener with temperatures in the mid 80's! "I was really happy they had such a wonderful day for their opening tournament", said Tom Maled golf professional. The winning team of Susie Peters, Patti Riely, Barb Reilly, and JoAnn Stephens carded a one over 72 to take the top honors and runners up shooting 74 were Darla Herthel, Phyllis Andres-Foreman, Wanda Juliot and Marion Hayenga. Congrats!!! to the winners and we look forward to our next event 1-Best Ball Foursome scheduled for Thursday May 19th with tee times starting at 9:00am.
Valley View Golf Club Hosts Successful Opening Day Scramble
Sunday, May 1st, Valley View Golf Club hosted it's annual Opening Day Scramble Tournament. "Despite the rain soaked course, participants never got a drop of rain on them" said Tom Maled, Golf Professional at Valley View. "I really feel like we were blessed with the rain free round, especially when it poured 15 minutes after the last team cleared the course". "Course conditions were as wet as I have ever seen them for an Opening Day event" Maled continued.

Floyd's Knobs Tournaments at Valley View Golf Club
Todd Frossard and Stu Voyles capture the "ICICLE OPEN" title shooting a score of 60 over the par 71 links Saturday February 26Th. Winning the Net division was the team of John Rowan and Mike Harpe shooting 59.75.
The 74 player field survived the cold temperatures with wind chills in the 20's, knowing that a hot bowl of chili was awaiting them after this first event of the 2011 golfing season.
Second place gross score honors went to the team of John Pirtle and Jeff Thompson shooting 68. Second place in the net division were Carolyn Duff and Matt Miller shooting (60.12). Third place gross went to Roger Dahl and Mike Meeks also shooting 68 but losing in a scorecard playoff. Third place net honors went to Gary Huesman and partner Frank Jasgarszewski shooting 61.12.
