JUNE 2008

A Few Words From Our Greens Keeper      June 2008

Once again the weather has been terrible, especially if you’re a golf course with Bermuda Grass as your dominant turf. The cool and wet weather has delayed both the green up this spring, and the growth of all the Bermuda turf. When the temperatures reach 80° in the day and stay in the 60’s at night, I do believe many of the more damaged areas will make a full recovery.

We aerated the greens on May 19th and 20th. We again used the Dry Ject Aerification process, which normally requires less time for the holes to heal. Warmer weather will also help the healing process.

Letter from the President

Hello everyone, I hope Opening Day was a good one for you all. Our fairway grass has taken hold and with some hot & dry weather we should have complete coverage in a couple weeks. Please remember to fill your fairway divots with sand to help with the healing process.

Remember that the first part of the Board Meetings, are for the Members to speak on topics important to them. Your input helps the Board of Directors to make decisions critical to fair and impartial treatment of all aspects concerning the governing of Valley View. Lets work together to make Valley View the perfect place for all to enjoy.

Thanks for your time,

Roger Dahl
